Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Services
- Phase 1 - Prelims examination is of objective type.
- Phase 2 - Mains examination is of written type.
- Phase 3 – Interview
Negative marking of 0.25 will be deducted in the prelims examination.
PHASE 1 – PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
There will be two preliminary exams which are of objective type of 225 Marks Each. This will act as screening test. The question will be based on following subjects:
Paper-A (225 Marks)- General Knowledge
- Indian Constitution Law and Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir State.
- Criminal Procedure Code.
- Evidence Act.
- Ranbir Penal Code.
- Limitation Act.
- Financial Code Volume 1&2
- Kashmir Service Regulation Chapters III to XIII and XXII and XXIII.
- Rules and orders for the guidance of Subordinate Courts {Civil and Criminal} and circular orders issued by the High Court.
- Civil Procedure Code.
- Registration Act.
- Transfer of property Act.
- Right of Prior Purchase Act.
- Houses and Shopes Rent Control Act.
- Jammu and Kashmir Laws
PHASE 2 – MAINS EXAMINATION
The mains examination consist of Compulsory Paper and Optional Paper.
1. COMPULSORY EXAMINATIONThe exam is conducted under the FOUR sections. Each paper shall carry 100 Marks each.

- Translation from English into Urdu or Hindi and vice versa.

- Indian Constitution Law and Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State.
- Criminal Procedure Code.

- Kashmir Service Regulation Chapters III to XIII and XXII and XXIII.

NOTE : Minimum marks are 40% in each written paper and aggregate of 50% to qualify for interview. Relaxation of 5% each has been made for SC/ST/PWD.
PHASE 3 – INTERVIEW
- Interview will carry 150 Marks
